Energy InformaticsConference 2026 (EI.A. 2026).Academy
14-16 October 2026, Sino-Danish Center (SDC), Beijing, China
About EI.A 2026
The Energy Informatics Academy Conference 2026 (EI.A 2026) invites researchers and practitioners to submit original research contributions in the multidisciplinary field of energy informatics, spanning energy systems, digital methods, and institutional feasibility. The conference provides a focused academic forum for presenting, discussing, and critically examining research at the intersection of energy and informatics, with an emphasis on depth of exchange rather than parallel presentation volume.
EI.A 2026 is designed for researchers who seek more than a conventional paper presentation. The conference adopts a discussion-centered single-track format, enabling authors to receive substantive feedback and engage directly with peers, session chairs, and keynote speakers. Accepted papers are published through pre-conference LNCS proceedings, ensuring early visibility and timely dissemination of research results.
EI.A 2026 will be co-hosted with the Summer School in Energy Informatics 2026 (12–13 October 2026) at the same venue. The summer school addresses how climate constraints, digital energy methods, and institutional feasibility are connected in energy system research, focusing on shared conceptual foundations and analytical perspectives. In contrast, EI.A 2026 provides a forum for presenting and debating advanced, original research, together forming a coherent academic continuum across the two events.
Beyond the conference days, EI.A 2026 is embedded in the Energy Informatics Academy, an international research community that emphasizes continuity, collaboration, and long-term academic impact. Participants contribute not only to a conference, but to an ongoing academic ecosystem shaping the future of energy informatics.
Conference Format
EI.A 2026 combines deep, in-person academic exchange with global, long-term research dissemination through two complementary presentation formats:
-
Physical Presentation: On-site presentation in single-track sessions, allowing extended discussion and direct interaction with peers, session chairs, and keynote speakers.
-
Pre-Recorded Video Presentation: Optional video presentations released during the conference and made publicly available via EI.A channels to maximize visibility and long-term impact beyond the event.
Both presentation formats follow the same peer-review process and offer identical publication opportunities.
Conference Topics
EI.A 2026 welcomes submissions on a broad range of topics, including but not limited to the following:

Paper Type and Publication
Authors are invited to submit one of the following types of contributions:
- Long papers: 12-15 pages (excluding references)
- Short papers: 6-11 pages (including references)
- Abstracts: Maximum 250 words (excluding references)
All long and short papers will undergo a rigorous peer-review process conducted by a panel of at least three expert reviewers.
Accepted and presented long and short papers* will be published in the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) proceedings volume.
All accepted authors will be invited to submit an extended version of their paper for fast-track consideration in the Springer Open Access Journal Energy Informatics.
*Abstract papers will not be included in the Springer LNCS proceedings but will be made available on the conference website.
Pre-Conference Proceedings
EI.A 2026 adopts a pre-conference proceedings model. Accepted and camera-ready papers will be published in the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) proceedings prior to the conference, in accordance with Springer’s publication process.
Awards and Recognization
EI.A 2026 will award three Best Paper Awards (awarded equally):
- Eligibility: Long paper submissions only
-
Selection: Based on technical quality, originality, and relevance
-
Award: 100% publication fee waiver for the extended journal version in Energy Informatics
Award recipients will be announced during the conference closing session.
Only papers accepted and presented at EI.A 2026 are eligible for the Best Paper Awards.
