BACKGROUND
ISSCO was founded in 1992 by Professor Wang Gungwu of the National University of Singapore, with its first president Professor Wang Ling-chi of the Department of Ethnic Studies of the University of California, Berkeley.
ISSCO is a scientific, non-political professional community for individuals and institutions interested in and committed to the study of Diaspora Chinese. ISSCO also provides facilities for research and scientific publications and organizes and supports national and international conferences organized by educational institutions in different countries. The papers presented in the study came from various academic domains related to Diaspora Chinese studies.
The coming conference was commissioned by The International Society for the Studies of Chinese Overseas (ISSCO) in September 2023 to Maranatha Christian University which has a Centre for Chinese Diaspora Studies – CCDS in the Faculty of Art and Design.
On December 9-10, 2023, a handover ceremony was carried out between ISSCO and the Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design, Maranatha Christian University, Mrs. Irena Vanessa Gunawan, S.T., M.Com. in Bangkok. It was decided that on November 7-8, 2024, an ISSCO regional conference will be held at Maranatha Christian University, and on November 9, 2024, a city tour visiting sites in Bandung such as Gedung Merdeka (where the Asian-African Conference took place) and other places related to the presence of Diaspora Chinese in Bandung.
THEMES AND SUBTHEMES OF THE ISSCO REGIONAL CONFERENCE 2024
Since 1992 until now, every year ISSCO organizes conferences both regionally and internationally. ISSCO international conferences discuss Chinese issues globally, while regional conferences discuss Chinese in certain regions, such as in New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Southeast Asia and so on.
The conference to be held at Maranatha Christian University in 2024 is a regional conference with the main themes:
"Chinese Diaspora in the Southeast Asia's Inclusive Progress in Socio Economic, Culture, and Politics: Adaptation and Challenges".

The submitted abstract which has been reviewed and approved for further full text paper process, prior of submission the full paper; the author should transfer the required contribution. Please attached together the copy of bank advice for transferred fund.

Any transferred fund is not refundable, whenever the person is not able to attend the conference. If paper is prepared by authors, only one person can be the presenter.

PAPER GUIDELINES:
Authors are required to submit an abstract then full paper following the author instructions using the template provided by the committee before the deadline (see Template and Important Dates). Final acceptance/rejection of your full paper can only be given after the peer review process. Authors of the accepted paper are required to make revisions according to the reviewers' input. The revised papers will be published in the ISSCO 2024 international proceeding. Authors may wish to submit a PowerPoint presentation no later than 7 days prior to the conference. Authors who submit this file will also be considered as virtual presenters and will get the presenter's certificate.
